Heartland Flyer

Over the holidays, I decided to save cash and polar bears by taking Amtrak from Austin to Oklahoma City to visit my family. I can’t say that the trip up was pleasant, but the return trip through Oklahoma’s Arbuckle mountains was well-worth the price of admission. I suspect the heavy snowfall made the experience all the more breathtaking, but it is quite a scenic train-ride particularly compared to the stretches in Texas that roll next to I-35.

I thought I would post a bunch of snapshots I took on the train ride. Shooting from a train is far from optimal conditions, and the Amtrak cars had a weird tinted laminate on the windows for which I’ve tried to correct.

Olá!

I suspect few people missed me, but I’m bringing this blog back after a long hiatus. I was losing enthusiasm for the project before it got hacked. After that, my lack of energy and need to focus on school led me to leave this blog dormant and blocked on Google.

Anyway, I’ve finally gotten it cleaned up, and I’ve had the need to dump content in a personal space, so the blog is back in action. I don’t intend to return to some kind of daily or obsessive blogging, but you may want to check back in from time to time.
