Advantages Of Commuting By Bicycle
If you have the privilege of living close to your job, you may be able to change your way of commuting from car to bicycle. Bicycle commuting has several advantages to offer and is a great way to conserve our natural resources, lower pollution and save money. Even if you only bike to work on occasion, every bit helps.
In addition, biking to work is a great way to get some exercise. Why pay to go to the gym when you can save money by riding your bike and get your excise at the same time. If the distance to your work is too far to bike, consider combining the bike ride with a commuter bus. This works well if you live some distance from a bus stop or if you work in an area that is not near the bus stop.
Many city buses now cater to bicycle commuters so that you are able to ride the bus for part of the commute and ride your bike the rest of the way to wok. This option may work if you want to be able to bike one way to or from work.
If you plan to bike to work, there will need to be some preparation that you make. You will want to have a way to carry your gear that is needed for work and anything you pick up that needs to be brought home. Messenger bags are one great option. If you have a laptop that you need to carry back and forth to work, a laptop messenger bag can offer a waterproof option that also protects your computer from and scrapes or scratches.
You will also want other messenger bags that can attach to your bike. That way if you find sale digital cameras down the street from your office, you can pick one up and save money, but still safely transport it home. Stop by and pick up the ATV parts at the shop next door to your office and save a commute later by car.
As we spend more time on planet earth, we learn that resources are truly limited. The resources that are available are becoming very expensive. We all need to do our own part in conservation of our remaining natural resources for generations that will follow.
In addition to conserving resources, biking to work is a great way to save money. Even if you only commute a few days a week, it will put money in your pocket. If you find that you enjoy the commute, you may decide to become a daily biker. This can save even more money and do even more to keep your body in shape.
