Frequently Asked Questions...
What is a good mountain bike for light use on easy trails?
Not an experienced or hardcore mountain biker. Just looking to do some easy trail riding. Been doing research on mountain bikes and need a second opinion. Not looking to spend a lot, since I am not that serious, yet. Found this one on craigslist, but like I said, very little knowledge. http://honolulu.craigslist.org/big/bik/2592812328.html Any and all thoughts are appreciated. I'm male, 6'1.
Answer:
Whatever it is that you choose to get, don't go for hybrids. If you really want something easy and smooth, a Full-Suspension mountain bike would be ideal for everyone experienced or not. They are quite comfortable due to the rear and front suspensions to absorb shocks when riding on rough surfaces. Hardtails aren't too bad either but I would recommend the Full-Suspension. I own a Hardtail and a BMX (not a mountain bike); I find the Hardtail more enjoyable because I get to take it on trails. A friend had me try their Full-Suspension on a trail and I liked it a lot because of the smooth ride. I plan to get one soon. Go find a bike shop at your local area, they can tell you more about what is good for you.
