Bike X6
Features Of Modern Bike Computers
Bike PCs have come a long way. In an addition to telling The speed, distance, and the duration of the ride, the designers have come up with additional features to help the rider improve his training. Let's have a look at some of the important features included in the most recent bike PCs.
Heart Monitor
Monitoring your pulse rate is vital especially when you need to develop endurance. Riders before used to carry additional gear that tells them what their heart rate is. But now they can have that feature in-built their cycle PCs. The system uses the additional space in your handlebars to pick up your pulse and displays it right in your PC.
Gear Information
Pro and in-training riders need to know what gear they are in when going for a ride. This feature is helpful when you want to watch your performance and find out the things you can improve on in the course of your training.
Cadence
This feature lets the rider see The speed they are pedalling in. With this info, riders can select the correct gear to stop them from exerting too much pressure on their joints and muscles. The easier it is to pedal, the longer the ride can last.
Split Screen
Choosing a bicycle computer with split screen options lets you spend less time pressing buttons while riding. This feature enables you to see multiple statistical data and features on your device . For example, while in training, you can see your not h=just your speed but your cadence as well .
Altimeter
If you ride in an area with varying altitudes, it is wise to get a cycling computer that has this feature. This will enable you to observe your current altitude and also show the various altitude you were in for the period of the ride.
These are just some of the modern features you'll be able to find in the present day's bicycle PCs. You'll find a couple of reviews of these devices online to find out which one is suited for you.

Frequently Asked Questions...
what mountain bike should i get?
i am deciding on two mountain bikes, one is the haro extreme x6 and the other is a raleigh talus 5.0. I just want to ride trials and around town which one is better?
Answer:
If these will be light trails - then neither. Both of those bikes were made for more extreme conditions. The Haro is a full suspension bike, which will be the slower of the two. Why? At least two reasons. #1) Suspension parts weigh the bike down, making you pedal around a heavier bike. #2) Suspension parts soak up a rider's energy. With every turn of the pedals, part of that energy is absorbed into the suspension parts & not transmitted to the rear wheel. #3) Full suspension is not there for rider comfort. It's there to keep the rear tire planted on the ground over extreme terrain...and I do mean extreme.
And neither bike would be good for around town on paved streets. This is why they are called "mountain bikes" and not "street bikes". If the trails aren't too severe, a hybrid or even a performance hybrid could handle them - packed earth or finely crushed gravel. And these types of bikes would be MUCH faster on the streets.
If I HAD to choose one of the two for both trails & street riding - the Raleigh - because it only has front suspension. I would also install a set of Kenda Kross tires for smoother city riding.
