What do I need to know when buying replacement forks for my mountain bike?
Hi there,
I have an entry level mountain bike (a 2010 Ridgeback MX3) which has front suspension. The suspension is not adjustable so I am looking to replace the front forks with rigid ones as I mostly cycle along the canals and rarely go downhill.
What information do I need to know before buying replacement forks for my bicycle? I will be asking my local bike shop to fit them so I only really need advice on buying them.
Many thanks,
Chris
Answer:
Your bike shop probably has dozens of used forks they can fit for very little money unless your mind is set on some exotic alloy or glass. Other then that you will need to know the length and diameter of your stem and the size of tire you will be using.
