Frequently Asked Questions...

Could you please help me compare these road bikes?

The two I am looking at are:

http://www.cycleking.co.uk/AMMACO-CS400-HYBRID-3-3-product-84.html

and

http://www.wiggle.co.uk/giant-defy-4-2010/

I'm not worried about the expense too much I just want to get good value for money.
Thanks

Answer:

Technically, the AMMACO CS400 HYBRID isn't a "road bike". It's a performance hybrid or a flat bar road bike as some call them

The Giant bicycle is a true road bike. They don't specify the exact tires size for the hybrid, but I would bet the Giant has thinner tires that hold more air pressure. That will result in faster speeds & easier pedaling. Also with the Giant, you will have more hand positions to choose from - on the drops, on the brake hoods or in the center of the handlebar. On a performance hybrid, only one hand position is available. On longer rides, your hands may start cramping up with nowhere to go with them.

If price is no object - go with the Giant. Either bike will get you from point A to point B and back. Both have decent to great specs. I just think the Giant might be more comfortable in the long run. And Giant is a more established brand name.
